Ray-Ban OptiFog — Never Hide
Ray-Ban · Integrated campaign · 3D film + Key visuals · Full CGI
Fog is the one enemy a lens can’t face head-on. It doesn’t come from the sun or the rain. It comes from the coffee, the shower, the hot plate, the windshield in traffic. It comes from life happening a little too close.
The campaign starts from that inversion: instead of showing the product, we show the world it gives back.
In the film, the lens is the protagonist and the frame is split down the middle. On one side, fog takes over and erases the scene. On the other, that same scene stays sharp and alive, colour and detail intact. The camera never cuts away to explain. It simply crosses the line between one world and the other, and the difference speaks for itself.
The entire product was modelled and rendered in 3D. The Ray-Ban aviator was rebuilt piece by piece — frame, hinges, lens curvature and thickness — with look development dedicated to optical behaviour: reflection, light transmission and the way the anti-fog treatment responds to condensation. That gave us total freedom of camera and light, and the ability to create shots no live-action capture would allow, such as the micro push-in on the lens surface at the exact instant fog meets it and refuses to settle.
The 3D VFX carry the promise. We simulated condensation, warm mist and microdroplets with frame-by-frame density control, so the contrast between the fogged side and the clear side would be precise, never overplayed. Nothing is implied by the cut: the difference is built into the image.
The key visuals extend the idea into print. Four everyday situations — traffic in the rain, coffee on the table, a hot shower, a plate just served — held inside the iconic aviator crop. Half erased by fog, half in full definition. One signature across all of them: Never Hide. See clearly in all conditions.
A case where the technology never shows up on screen. Only its result does.
